Before you arrive

What to Expect

Arrive 10 minutes early

Your first visit can feel a little overwhelming — arriving early gives you time to meet the instructor, get a feel for the space, and ask any questions before the class starts.

Comfortable clothing

No uniform needed for your trial class. Any comfortable sportswear works — shorts, tracksuit pants, a t-shirt. Bare feet on the mat. Once you join, we'll sort you out with a dobok.

No shoes on the mat

Remove all footwear at the edge of the training area. This is a standard dojo rule — it keeps the mat clean and safe for everyone. Slippers or bare feet in the waiting area are fine.

No experience needed

Every student — child or adult — starts at White Belt. Your instructor will teach you the bow, the basic stances, and what to expect from each class. Beginners are always welcome.

Common questions

FAQ

Is the first class really free?

Yes — all first-time visitors train for free, in any programme. Come in comfortable clothing; you don't need a uniform or any prior experience.

What do I wear?

Any comfortable sportswear for your trial class. Once you join, you'll be fitted for a dobok (white Taekwondo uniform) which is ordered through the school.

What age can my child start?

Little Dragons accepts children from 4 years old. Karate Kids is for ages 7–15. Adults is 15 and up. If you're unsure which programme fits, just WhatsApp us.

Do I need any experience?

None at all. Every student starts at White Belt regardless of age or background. Our instructors will guide you from the very first bow.

How does the monthly fee work?

Membership is R350/month for all programmes. The fee is due before the 2nd of each month. Grading fees (R300–R350) are separate and only apply when you choose to grade.

What happens at Thursday sparring?

Thursday classes are dedicated sparring sessions. Full safety gear is mandatory — hand gear, foot gear, helmet with face shield, and chest guard. Students are eligible from Camo Belt onwards. New students are welcome to observe their first Thursday class before purchasing gear.
